VÁMANOS Á LAREDO!

It is time to register for the Laredo Birding and Butterfly Festival.  Here is your chance to experience The Last Great Frontier.  Join the Monte Mucho Audubon Society and the Laredo Convention and Visitors Bureau for field trips and programs focusing on birds and butterflies of the Rio Grande plain.  Our region features over 300 species of birds and 325 species of butterflies.  Of the 30 specialty species Texas offers, all but three can be found here. February also provides many over-wintering species.  Our trips will take you to private ranches not open to the public, familiarize you with local birding hot spots and trails for you to re-visit in the near future and provide you with a bird banding experience along the Rio Grande.  In addition, our evening programs will feature well known speakers in their field – Martin Hagne, Gene Blacklock, Tim Brush and Ted Lee Eubanks.  The headquarter hotel for the event is the Holiday Inn Civic Center located at 800 Garden Street, adjacent to IH 35.  Reservations can be made using the conference name at a special rate (including a full breakfast beginning at 5:30 am) by calling the hotel direct at (956) 727-5800 or toll-free 800-465-4329.  Additional information may be obtained by calling 800-361-3360 or visiting either the Monte Mucho Audubon Society or Laredo Convention & Visitors Bureau websites;

 Use the links on the left to print your registration form and get it in early.  Trips will be limited to 12 participants and they will be filled on a first come first serve basis.  We will do our best to accommodate your trip request.  There are also links that provide you with information about the field trips being offered and the trip leaders who will be your guides.  We will provide the transportation to get you to and from your chosen destination.

 SEE YOU IN LAREDO FEBRUARY 6, 2008
